Smart Money Moves for New Grads

Hey Reader!

This week's newsletter is dedicated to all of the new grads out there. Congratulations!!

I started Sisters For Financial Independence when my younger sister was about to graduate from college in 2018. I felt it was my duty as the oldest sister to impart some financial lessons. As the oldest immigrant daughter, I was the first to navigate the college application and FAFSA process, student loans, the corporate world, employee benefits, and so much more. No matter what stage of life you are in, money will play a key role.

I want to help you!

Sure, you can get your money lessons on TikTok, but I want you to be honest with yourself: have you taken any action after watching a video? Chances are that you probably just scrolled past, thinking you will do something later.

I don't want you to wake up 10, 20 years from now with a lot of financial regrets. I know it feels like you shouldn't care about retirement now or planning for the future, but as an elder millennial, I am asking you to rethink that. Bad money habits have a way of compounding FAST.

Whether you’re staring down student loans, navigating your first “real” job, or wondering if adulting is just one big financial stress ball… my book, Smart Start, was made for you.

Smart Start is a guided money book wrapped in storytelling, real money lessons, self-reflection, and loads of action items.

✨ Here’s a sneak peek:

✅ The 5 money accounts every 20-something should open

✅ How your parents’ money habits still affect you—and how to break the cycle

✅ What college didn’t teach you about credit, saving, or investing

✅ Lots of trackers to help you finally face your student loans, reach savings goals, and change spending habits

It's available on Amazon Kindle and easy to read on the go.

Your financial future starts now!

If you aren't familiar with my work, head to YouTube to watch my videos. I've included some popular videos below to help you get started.

X Catherine

P.S. If you're not a new grad, but know someone who is, pass this email along.

Hey Reader, Last month, a California jury awarded $6 million to a young woman after finding that Instagram and YouTube were deliberately designed to be addictive. Not because of what she saw on those platforms. Because of how they were built. Infinite scroll. Autoplay. Notifications engineered to pull her back in. A jury called it what it is: a design defect. And I couldn't stop thinking about one thing: The EXACT same design is running in your shopping apps right now! The infinite scroll on...

Hi Reader Have you ever looked at your bank balance on a Tuesday morning and thought, “Wait... where did that $80 go?” Usually, we blame ourselves. We tell ourselves we need more willpower, better discipline, or fewer lattes. But I’m going to let you in on a secret from my “past life” in AdTech: It’s not you. It’s the machine. Before I started Sisters For FI, I spent over a decade in IT and Advertising Technology. I’ve been in the rooms where we built the systems designed to turn your every...
